If you have having trouble connecting to your PBM, try working through these steps:
- Make sure your PBM has enough battery to operate. If the PBM does not turn on when you plug it in, let it charge for a few hours and try again.
- Make sure that you are not already connected to the PBM in another browser window. The driver can only support one connection at a time.
- Make sure you are using the USB cable provided with your PBM. Not all USB cables are compatible.
- Make sure you are running Census on a Windows PC. The driver does not currently work on Apple or Linux devices.
- Check that Cloud Connector is not running. To check, open app tray at the bottom corner of your screen. If Cloud Connector is running, close it, then refresh your browser:
- Confirm that you are trying to connect to the PBM, and not another USB device. On older systems or PBM models, you may see a generic device name in the selection window instead of "PBM" (e.g. it may show as "USB Serial Device"). You can check this by selecting "PBM not connected" to open the device selection pop-up, then plugging in your PBM to see what it uses for a name when it appears in the list:
- Restart your PC, and try these steps again.
