Regular cleaning and maintenance of your Bugcount® One ATP Analyzer helps ensure accurate measurements, reliable performance, and prevents contamination.
Routine preventative maintenance for the analyzer is simple and primarily involves the periodic replacement of the removable sample chamber. Following a regular maintenance schedule will ensure measurement accuracy, reduce factors that may affect performance, and support warranty coverage.
Luminultra offers dedicated maintenance kits designed to make routine cleaning and upkeep of your Bugcount analyzer device quick and easy.
Sample chamber cleaning & maintenance
The Bugcount analyzer includes a removable sample chamber insert that can be removed for cleaning or replacement if contamination occurs.
As part of normal operation, Luminultra recommends replacing the sample chamber approximately every six months using the Bugcount® One ATP Analyzer Maintenance Kit (sold separately). Routine replacement helps maintain consistent performance and accurate test results.
Sample Chamber Replacement Procedure
Turn off the Bugcount analyzer.
Open the sample chamber door and remove the test tube.
Lift the front edge of the chamber insert and carefully remove it from the device.
Insert a new sample chamber from the Bugcount® One ATP Analyzer Maintenance Kit, pressing down until it is firmly seated.
Close the chamber door and power the device back on to continue testing.
Important Note: Always power off the device and avoid bright lights when replacing the chamber, as this may cause temporarily elevated RLU readings for up to 24 hours.
Spills and Contamination Guidance
If a spill or contamination occurs inside the sample chamber, the chamber should be replaced immediately.
Sample chambers are not intended to be cleaned and reused after a spill.
If liquid enters the device cavity beneath the sample chamber, do not attempt to clean the inside of this area.
In this situation, please contact Luminultra Customer Support for assistance.
Replacing the chamber after a spill helps prevent contamination and ensures the analyzer continues to produce accurate and reliable measurements.
Surface cleaning
To clean the outer surfaces of your Bugcount analyzer:
- Gently wipe the housing, screen, and buttons with a lint-free cloth that is lightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution.
Avoid moisture entering the USB-C port, button seams, or chamber opening.
Do not submerge the device or expose it to excessive liquid.
Important Note: Never use sharp or abrasive materials on any part of the Bugcount analyzer device. Doing so may cause damage and void warranty coverage.
Optional performance validation
Some customers choose to verify their devices linearity approximately once per year to confirm readings remain within expected performance tolerances. This can be done using the Luminometer Standardization Kit (LSK), sold separately.
Linearity verification, while not required for routine operation, may be beneficial for customers operating in regulated environments or performing internal quality checks or audits.
