1. Overview
Starting January 1, 2026, LuminUltra’s QGOM, QGA, and DSA ATP test kits will transition to the Bugcount product family. This update aligns our Water and Energy ATP testing products under a single, modern naming system and documentation format.
This change primarily affects kit names, packaging, and documentation — not performance, reagents, or analyzer compatibility. Your testing process and results remain the same.
The only physical change to note is that the 20mL syringe previously included with QGOM kits will be removed (the test method has been optimized to use only the 50mL syringe). All other components and reagents remain the same.
In short:
- You’ll see new Bugcount names and labels on kits and reagents.
- You’ll access digital test instructions at docs.luminultra.com/atp that use the new naming conventions.
- Your testing process, equipment, and results remain unchanged.
- You can continue using existing QGOM, QGA, and DSA kits until your inventory is depleted — they remain fully compatible with Bugcount materials.
2. Why This Change Is Happening
This transition is part of our ongoing effort to simplify and unify LuminUltra’s product lineup across all ATP testing applications.
Key goals of the update:
- Streamline product naming: QGOM, QGA, and DSA kits will adopt the same Bugcount naming structure used across our entire product family.
- Modernize the test experience: Printed instruction sheets will be replaced by online guides and QR code links for faster access and ongoing updates. All kit instructions are available at docs.luminultra.com/atp.
- Enhance consistency: All Bugcount kits and reagents now follow unified naming, labeling, and documentation standards used globally.
- Remove unnecessary components: The 20mL syringe in QGOM kits is being discontinued to align with current best practices and to simplify packaging.

- Small Tube: Uses a 5mL tube for small samples (more commonly used in Water applications)
- Large Tube: Uses a 10mL tube for larger samples (more commonly used in Oil & Gas applications)
