1. Overview
Starting January 1, 2026, LifeCheck ATP test kits and reagents will transition to LuminUltra’s Bugcount product family. This update is part of a broader initiative to simplify and unify our product lineup while maintaining the same trusted performance and testing methods you rely on today.
Under this transition, LifeCheck kit and reagent names will be updated to align with the standard LuminUltra naming system. You’ll notice updates to product names, packaging, labeling, and the test kit instructions — but there are no changes to performance, or luminometer compatibility.
In short:
- You’ll see new names and labels on kits and reagents.
- You’ll access digital test instructions at docs.luminultra.com/atp that use the new naming conventions.
- Your testing process, equipment, and results remain exactly the same.
- You can continue using existing LifeCheck-labeled kits and reagents until your inventory is depleted. The products remain fully compatible with LuminUltra Bugcount materials.
2. Why This Change Is Happening
This transition brings LifeCheck and LuminUltra products together under a single, global system — designed to make testing easier, more consistent, and better supported.
Key goals of the update:
- Simplify product naming: LifeCheck kit and reagent names will now follow the same structure as LuminUltra’s existing Bugcount line, making it easier to find and reorder compatible products.
- Modernize the test experience: Printed instruction sheets will be replaced by online guides and QR code links for faster access and ongoing updates. All test kit instructions will now live in one place at docs.luminultra.com/atp.
- Ensure compatibility across markets: All kits and reagents will use the same naming and labeling system used globally across LuminUltra’s Water and Energy testing solutions.
3. What’s Changing at a Glance
Here’s what you can expect beginning in January 2026:
- All updated names and product codes will appear on invoices, packing slips, and SDS documentation to ensure a smooth transition for your internal records.
- Each Bugcount test kit box includes a printed insert with a QR code and link to its test kit instructions.
